CLIMATE TEA & TALK with Elder’s Action Network – Monthly Community Conversations @ Online
Jan 7 @ 7:00 pm – Dec 8 @ 7:00 pm

ELDER’S CLIMATE ACTION  – ECA

ECA is mobilizing elders throughout the United States to address climate change while there is still time to protect the well being of our grandchildren, future generations, and all life. We are dedicated to using the power of our caring, our wisdom and our numbers to push for policies that will reduce greenhouse gases in our atmosphere to a level consistent with life thriving on our planet.

Join Us for Climate Tea & Talk – 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 6:00 PM (ET) | 3:00 PM (PT)

Make yourself a cup of tea and connect with us for a “elder hour” of casual discussion about climate change.
We can make new friends across the country and learn ways to engage from each other. For this call you will see the other participants as it is an open discussion format.
We hope you will join us for climate tea & talk!

~ NO RSVP NEEDED ~ *as this is casual conversation, these calls are not recorded

Last week, ECA’s Community Conversations began. Ground rules for respecting each other, and a short, guided meditation set a positive, caring tone for the meeting. Breakout groups talked about what is sustaining and engaging us, from nature walks to keeping in touch with friends and relations, and feeling gratitude for life and the environment. One attendee told about a group that made and sold fish tacos and donated the proceeds to a homeless shelter. We reflected on how the pandemic has revised our behavior, ways to take action on behalf of those suffering loss or unemployment, and how to help our adult children and grandchildren
while sheltering in place.
We hope you’ll join us for informal small group conversations where we can share ideas and stories of ways to keep up our work as elder climate activists. We’re here for you just like we’re here for the grandchildren and all future generations.

Masks for Humanity presents their “Ask a Scientist Series” and Weekly “Sew-a-thon” of Masks @ online
May 29 @ 3:00 pm – Dec 18 @ 3:00 pm

Jayna Zweiman via ActionNetwork.org <info@email.actionnetwork.org>

Weekly Sew-a-thon:

Every Friday at 12 PDT / 3 EDT, makers get together to talk masks and more. If you want to connect with other makers, this is a great opportunity to stop in, listen and share. It’s relaxed, informal, and one of my favorite parts of the week. Here’s the link to register. All are welcome.

Mask Count:

We currently have 340,000 cloth masks requested! We have had requests come in from across the country, from rural and urban areas, and from organizations that serve groups disproportionally impacted by COVID-19. If there is a group you are specifically concerned about, chances are, we have an organization on our list that serves them.

Making and giving masks is an incredible opportunity to make a tangible difference in someone’s life. Check out our request list, pick a place to help, and get started! Each mask matters. Share pics along the way on instagramfacebook, and twitter.

As always, thank you for all you are doing.

In Community,

Jayna

May 31 @ 12:00 am – Dec 31 @ 12:00 pm

Help Support COVID Relief to Indigenous Communities

HELP BIONEERS IN THEIR GLOBAL EFFORT!

At Bioneers, we have worked swiftly behind the scenes to help Indigenous communities hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and have already distributed rapid-relief support to those in the front lines, who are risking their lives to help Indigenous communities survive the latest pandemic.

Alexis Bunten, Bioneers Indigeneity Program Director, wrote this piece to share what her and her colleagues have learned about the disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on Indigenous communities, from historical perspectives to the current reality, and to offer several ways that you can donate to these efforts.
